The Role of Indigenous Peoples’ Knowledge Systems in Healing and Reconciliation
In collaboration with Association Tinhinan Canada, Global Transformation Pathway 4 (Supporting Social Justice, Reconciliation, and Healing) of the Ărramăt Project will host a side event to the 25th Session of the UNPFII.
It will take place in Conference Room CR12 on April 24, from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m., at United Nations Headquarters.
Our side event will feature the work of Pathway 4 (Supporting Social Justice, Reconciliation, and Healing), carried out by Indigenous leads from diverse sociocultural regions. It will also be an opportunity to explore Indigenous approaches to social justice healing and reconciliation.
This event will also continue the dialogue initiated in Ottawa with the World Health Organization, as part of the initiative on traditional knowledge, biodiversity, and health: “restoring trust, strengthening partnerships, and promoting Indigenous-led pathways.”
Our keynote speaker is Professor Brenda Gunn, a Red River Métis from the Manitoba Métis Federation, North American member of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, and Academic and Research Director at the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.
